Building Information Management and the implementation of 4–D modeling has allowed us to help clients understand the interrelatedness of their decisions and how those decisions effect the construction of a project. Through the effective understanding of the construction we identify where problems could arise and effectively recognize, address, plan, and change an approach during the design phase of a project. With this highly effective approach the client avoids costly mistakes in the field. As a result of this process Iron Horse is routinely referred to as a developer’s architect. Our team uses the technology of 3–D design to further supplement our standard QC procedures. By drawing the entire project in Revit, including MEP and Structural, we are as a team, better able to identify coordination issues and field conflicts prior to construction. This collaborative work allows the client to better visualize the work and the contractor to communicate more effectively in the field.
