IHA lead the team in the complex coordination of the existing building and the new Central Train Station canopy. Major coordination of the floor elevations between the two projects as well as coordination of existing services on the Station Terminal and how they would be incorporated into the new facility. This project is a design-build contract with Kiewit constructors as the lead on the project and acting as the project client.

IHA modeled the entire facility in BIM using Revit 2010 from the west wall of the bus box to the existing façade of the Station. This process helped the design and engineering team in coordinating the renovation and identifying coordination conflicts in the model vs. finding them in the field. IHA identified multiple conflicts that did not come up in the construction documents drawn in 2-D. Our team members have been using our model as a tool to model additional design elements in the new facility as well.
